Description: Pastor Dan will be facilitating a DVD study by Andy and Sandra Stanley entitled Parenting: Am I Getting it Right? This study will will focus on four subgroups: The Four Stages of Parenting, How to Parent with the End in Mind, An Approach to Discipline that Strengthens Relationships and How to Help Your Child Develop their own Faith.

I Am – Discovering Who Jesus Is
Description: In the Old Testament God declared Himself through a burning bush: “I Am.” In this guide we explore the ways that Jesus expanded that simple declaration. Jesus made some bold claims: “I am the resurrection.” “I am the bread of life.” “I am the way.” His claims are still true in our grief, fear and uncertainty. These eight studies help us see Jesus more clearly and live with hope and confidence because of who He is.

Description: This fall the men will be studying a book on Spiritual Warfare by Jack Kuhatschek. This study will help define what spiritual warfare is, how to recognize it, and how it will affect you.

Description: A series of individual lessons that focus on the topics that teens need to know about in order to develop their faith during their teen years.

#12 – Digging Deeper
Description: In depth study of the previous week’s sermon. This class allows for a greater understanding of the Biblical text used in the previous week’s sermon and for a small group discussion about where the Lord is trying to lead through the reading of His word.

#17 – The Chosen
Description: Pastor Dan will be offering a class on the TV show ‘The Chosen’. The Chosen depicts the life and ministry of Jesus. We will be looking at episodes and discussing the main points of each episode. Pastor Dan believes that The Chosen does a wonderful job of introducing people to the life of Jesus Christ and His ministry. It also introduces other characters which can lead to very interesting conversations.

Description: Have you ever been offended? Often people who are offended do not even realize they are trapped because thy are so focused on the wrong that was done to them. The most effective way for the enemy to blind us is to cause us to focus on ourselves. The ‘Bait of Satan’ exposes the deadly trap of offense and reveals how to escape its grip and stay free of it.

#20 – Methodist Articles of Religion
Description: There has been a lot of discussion as to what our new church discipline would look like as we become Swartz Creek Community Church. Pastor Dan has shared that we would likely start with the Methodist Articles of Religion that are in the current UMC Book of Discipline. Well, what are these articles? This class is intended to review and discuss the 27 Articles of Religion so that we can understand them, understand what we believe as a church, and learn how to put them into practice.
